COLLEGE VISION
The College of Arts, Media, and Communication is inspired by the shared belief that art is communication, that communication is an art, and that art and communication are essential pillars for building and maintaining community. As a College committed to excellence in the arts, media, and communication:
- We will, as Goethe proposed, promote those activities essential to human life: entertainment, edification, and exaltation of the human spirit.
- We will be the destination campus for individuals who wish to develop skills in and understanding of our disciplines within a global context.
- We will be recognized as the public face and voice of the university providing leadership in the performing arts, media, and communication in ways that enhance the university's role as the cultural and intellectual leader of the region.
- We will create a community of disciplines that recognizes and embraces a diversity of interests, and cooperates to open new avenues of expertise and experience.
- We will create a community that embraces dialogue and social justice and the principles of the learning-centered university, an academy where faculty, students, staff, administrators, alumni, and neighbors will experience pride in our collective achievements and contributions to building a just and humane society.
