MAIN GALLERY:

Camera and Community: Selections from the CSUN Photographic Archives
March 10 – April 12, 2008 (closed Monday, March 31)

Curator Talk, Kent Kirkton: Monday, March 10 10am
The exhibition drawn from the more than one million images in the CSUN collection will include many of the most significant images produced by some of the finest photographers in the Southland. The exhibition will include images from the 1940s through the present and is especially strong in its representation of African-American life, politics, and culture.  It also includes significant documentation of Cesar Chavez and the United Farm Workers.  Other images range from the San Fernando Valley to Central America and Columbia.

 

Annual Juried Art Student Exhibition April 25 –May 21, 2008
Opening Reception: Friday, April 25th 7-9pm

Works by currently enrolled graduate and undergraduate art students at CSUN are selected by art professionals and awards are announced during the opening reception.  This annual popular exhibition characteristically represents the range and styles and content indicative of an active art department.

Allison Gregory's award-winning Theatre for Young Audiences play. Via a magic portal a young ten-year-old boy journeys back to Vietnam in search of a Grandfather who never returned from that jungle conflict. Directed by Dave Mason

IMAGINARY INVALID

 

Come fracture your funny bone with the antics of a hypochondriac trying to marry off his daughter to a doctor to ensure himself a lifetime of medical treatments. This was Moliere's final comedy (he died, with some irony, performing the lead role. Directed Ron Poppenhagen
