What is the AMA?
The American Marketing Association (AMA) is the world's largest and most comprehensive professional society of marketers, consisting of more than 45,000 worldwide members in 92 countries and 500 chapters throughout North America. Founded in 1937 as a professional non-profit organization for marketers, the AMA promotes education and assists personal and professional career development among marketing professionals while encouraging the advancement, science, and ethical practice of marketing disciplines.

The AMA is the only organization that provides direct benefits to marketing professionals in both business and academia, including all levels of marketing practitioners, educators, and students. Professional Development (excellence):

Through its 500 professional and collegiate chapters, the AMA serves its members by enhancing their professional career development. AMA chapters sponsor meetings, workshops and seminars that allow members to interface with the leading innovators and thinkers in business, research and academia. Chapter meetings provide a forum to expand personal and professional contacts by networking with area marketing professionals from the full range of industries.

AMA meetings also provide an opportunity for students to network among individuals that not only excel in their academic course work, but in extracurricular activities. The experience that the AMA offers is an excellent opportunity to sharpen one's marketing skills and attain internship position with numerous AMA affiliated companies. Earning experience in the field of marketing will undoubtedly put members in an advantageous position after graduation.
