Chapter 1607 - Reserve Educational Assistance Program (REAP)
Educational Assistance Allowance for trainees under the Reserve Educational Assistance Program (Ch. 1607 of Title 10 U.S.C). The following basic monthly rates are effective October 1, 2006. For trainees on active duty, payment is limited to reimbursement of tuition and fees for the training taken.
Correspondence training is reimbursed at: 40% level at 22% of the approve cost of course; 60% level at 33% of the approve cost of course; 80% level at 44% of the approve cost of course.
Monthly rate for consecutive service of 90 days but less than one year:
- Full time - $430.00
- Three quarter time - $322.50
- Half time - $215.00
- Less than half time, more than one-quarter time - $215.00 (Tuition and fees only. Payment cannot exceed the listed amount.)
- One-quarter time or less - $107.50 (Tuition and fees only. Payment cannot exceed the listed amount.)
Monthly rate for consecutive service of one year and up to two years:
- Full time - $645.00
- Three quarter time - $483.75
- Half time - $322.50
- Less than half time, more than one-quarter time - $322.50 (Tuition and fees only. Payment cannot exceed the listed amount.)
- One-quarter time or less - $161.25 (Tuition and fees only. Payment cannot exceed the listed amount.)
Monthly rate for consecutive service of two or more years:
- Full time - $860.00
- Three quarter time - $645.00
- Half time - $430.00
- Less than half time, more than one-quarter time - $430.00 (Tuition and fees only. Payment cannot exceed the listed amount.)
- One-quarter time or less - $215.00 (Tuition and fees only. Payment cannot exceed the listed amount.)
