Introduction
This guide explains how to obtain a registration appointment for Summer Term and enroll in classes.
Unlike the fall and spring semesters, Summer Term registration is basically first come, first served. New and continuing CSUN students who are eligible for regular Summer Term obtain their own appointments to register during the Registration-by-Appointment period. Visiting summer students register later during the Nonrestrictive and Late Registration periods. All students may follow these steps to register for Summer Term classes.

Step 1
Use Internet Explorer browser version 6.0 or higher, Mozilla Firefox or Safari. Other Web browsers such as AOL, Netscape, or Internet Explorer for Mac may not be fully compatible with the Web portal.
Step 2
Your myNorthridge displays.
In the box My Path to Graduation, click Student Center (SOLAR).
Step 3
You are now in the Student Center and SOLAR.
To obtain your appointment day and time to register in Summer Term classes, click the Summer Appt/Enrollment link.
If you are eligible for regular Summer Term as a new or continuing CSUN student, SOLAR will automatically issue you the next available registration appointment.
If you are not eligible for regular Summer Term, a message will display directing you to enroll as a visiting student through CSUN's Open University program in The Tseng College.
Step 4
After you've obtained your summer registration appointment and the time to register arrives, you may return to the SOLAR Student Center as often as desired to enroll in courses and/or adjust your schedule before the published deadlines.
To add classes or adjust your schedule, click either Enroll in a Class or Summer Appt/Enrollment.

If you know that you're not eligible for Summer Term as a new or continuing (i.e., matriculated) CSUN student, you may enroll in Open University through The Tseng College from the College of Extended Learning box in myNorthridge.
