Drop Classes

This is a tutorial only. No log in is required.

Introduction

The Drop Classes pages are part of the larger Enroll in a Class suite that allows students to add, drop, swap and edit classes in their schedule for a particular term within published deadlines.

For schedule adjustment calendars, policies and instructions, go to:

  3. Change in Academic Schedule after Start of Classes

The Drop a Class page has three main steps:

  1. Select Classes to Drop
  2. Confirm Classes to Drop
  3. View Results

A record of the classes dropped for the term remains in My Class Schedule views.

Step 1

Using Internet Explorer browser version 6.0 or higher, log into myNorthridge at www.csun.edu with your CSUN User ID and Password.

Step 2

The page myNorthridge displays. In the pagelet My Path to Graduation, click Student Center.

Step 3

You are now in the Student Center and SOLAR. Under Academics, click Enroll in a Class.

Step 4

The Payment Notice displays.

To continue, read and accept the Statement of Financial Responsibility.

To go back, select Student Center from the drop down menu and click the Go Screen shot of the drop down menu GO button. button.

Step 5

The Add Classes – Select Term page displays by default. Select the desired Term from the list and click Continue.

Step 6

The Select Classes to Add page displays for the term you selected. Your class schedule also displays.

Click the Drop tab at the top.

Step 7

The Select Classes to Drop page lists all the classes in which you are currently enrolled for the term selected.

Select the class(es) to drop by clicking the check box.

Then click the Drop Selected Classes button to continue.

Step 8

On the Confirm Your Selection page, review the classes to drop.

Click Finish Dropping to process your drop request.

Optional: Click Cancel to exit without dropping the class. The class will remain in your schedule.

Step 9

The View Results page displays errors or confirms success for your drop request.

If errors are found:

  1. Read the error message and print the page to discuss it with faculty or staff.
  2. If finished, click Make a Payment to check your new account balance. Click My Class Schedule to view your updated schedule.

If successful:

  1. Read any messages and print the page if you want to discuss it with faculty or staff.
  2. If finished, you may Make a Payment or view My Class Schedule.

Always check your account balance and payment due dates after adjusting your schedule. Print a copy of your class schedule for your records.
