The Registration Calendar lists enrollment-related dates in chronological order by term for academic year 2012.

October 28, 2011 Spring 2012 Registration Access Mailer sent to new, eligible students. Email sent to new and continuing students. See Semester Bulletin.
November 1 Academic Advisement/First-Time Freshman Registration begins.
November 8 - December 11 Registration-by-Appointment. Maximum load: 13 units. Repeating courses is not permitted.
November 11 Holiday; all offices closed; no instruction (Veterans’ Day Observed).
November 23 Student Services Center closes at 5:00 p.m. (eve of Thanksgiving recess).
November 24 - 26 Thanksgiving Recess; all offices closed; no instruction; no Saturday class on 11/26 (Thanksgiving Day-Thursday, November 24; Admission Day Observed-Friday, November 25).
November 30 Previously disqualified students should apply for Fall 2012 admission during the initial filing period, which ends November 30.
December 5 Automobile parking permits for Spring 2012 can be purchased online starting this week. Purchase motorcycle permits in person.
December 12, 2011 - January 22, 2012 Nonrestrictive Registration (no appointment needed). Maximum load: 15 units. Repeating courses is permitted beginning January 19, 2012.
December 22, 2011 Winter Term 2012 online and hybrid courses begin. For information, contact the Tseng College of Extended Learning.
December 26, 2011-January 2, 2012 Winter Recess; all offices closed; no instruction except for Winter Term 2012 online and hybrid courses. (Christmas Day Observed-Monday, Dec. 26, 2011; Lincoln’s Birthday Observed-Tuesday, Dec. 27; Washington’s Birthday Observed-Wednesday, Dec. 28; Columbus Day Observed-Thursday, Dec. 29; no holiday observance-Friday, Dec. 30; New Year’s Day Observed-Monday, January 2, 2012)
Early January 2012 Spring 2012 automobile parking permits are available for purchase online. See "Student Parking Information" at CSUN Parking Services.
January 1, 2012 2012-2013 Federal and California Financial Aid Application period begins. Priority consideration given to those who file FAFSA by March 2, 2012.
January 3 Winter Term face-to-face courses begin. For information, contact the Tseng College of Extended Learning.
January 13 First spring Financial Aid payments start this week (weekly thereafter).
January 16 Holiday; all offices closed. (Martin Luther King, Jr. Day)
January 19 Repeating courses is permitted.
January 21 Saturday-only and Friday-Saturday classes begin.
January 22 Last day to DROP all classes and qualify for a full refund (minus $10)
January 23 Weekday classes begin.
January 23-February 10 Late Registration (by permission only) and Schedule Adjustment (Weeks 1-3). Repeating courses is permitted. Late Registration fee: $25.00.
February 10 Last day to Register Late, Add classes using permission numbers, Drop a class, or Change Basis of Grading (end of Week 3).

Last day to qualify for a partial refund (minus $10) due to a drop in unit load below 6.1.
March 2 Deadline for Financial Aid application priority consideration.
March 2 Last day to confirm awarding of baccalaureate degree for students who completed graduation requirements for Fall 2012.

Deadline to apply for Fall 2012 undergraduate graduation.
March 7-8 Grad Fest - Prepare for 2012 Commencement.

March 30 Last day (60% point) to qualify for a prorated refund (minus $10). Students who remain enrolled after this date may not need to repay financial aid.

March 31 No Saturday classes (Cesar Chavez Day weekend).Campus closed.
April 2 Deadline for previously disqualified undergraduate and second bachelor students to submit the Previously Disqualified Questionnaire for Fall 2012 readmission.
April 2-7 Spring Recess; no instruction. Offices open shorter business hours.
May 11 Last day of formal instruction except for Saturday classes meeting once weekly.

Deadline to submit thesis or graduate projects for Spring 2012.
May 14-19 Final Examinations Week. Learn how to View Final Exam Schedule. Grades are posted online approximately one week after finals.

May 25 Last Day of Spring 2012 Semester.

March 19, 2012 Obtain a registration appointment online starting today (regular CSUN students only)
March 26 - April 2 Registration-by-Appointment begins (regular CSUN students only). Repeating courses is not permitted.
April 3 - May 28 Nonrestrictive Registration, Sessions 1 and 2. Repeating courses is permitted.
April 3 - July 10 Nonrestrictive Registration, Session 3. Repeating courses is permitted.
May 28 Memorial Day Holiday; all offices closed; no instruction
May 29 Summer Term 2012 begins.
Session 1 (12 weeks) and Session 2 (6 weeks) begin.
May 29 - June 8 Late Registration/Schedule Adjustment, Sessions 1 and 2.
July 4 Independence Day Holiday; campus closed; no instruction
July 6 Deadline to apply for Spring 2013 or Summer 2013 undergraduate graduation.
July 10 Session 2 ends.
