Oct 27, 2010 Spring 2011 Registration Access Mailer sent to new, eligible students. Continuing students, see Semester Bulletin.
November 2 Academic Advisement/First-Time Freshman Registration begins.
November 9 - December 8 Registration-by-Appointment. Maximum load: 13 units. Repeating courses is not permitted.
November 11 Holiday; all offices closed; no instruction (Veterans’ Day Observed).
November 24 Student Services Center closes at 5:00 p.m. (eve of Thanksgiving recess).
November 25 - 27 Thanksgiving Recess; all offices closed; no instruction; no Saturday class on 11/27 (Thanksgiving Day-Thursday, November 25; Admission Day Observed-Friday, November 26).
December 9, 2010 - January 23, 2011 Nonrestrictive Registration (no appointment needed). Maximum load: 19 units. Repeating courses is permitted beginning January 20.
December 23, 2010 Winter Term online courses begin. For information, contact the Tseng College of Extended Learning.
December 24, 2010-January 1, 2011 Winter Recess; all offices closed; no instruction except for Winter Term 2011 online courses. January 1, 2011 2011-2012 Federal and California Financial Aid Application period begins. Priority consideration given to those who file FAFSA by March 2, 2011.
January 4 Winter Term on-campus courses begin. For information, contact the Tseng College of Extended Learning.
January 14 First spring Financial Aid payments start this week (weekly thereafter).
January 17 Holiday; all offices closed. (Martin Luther King, Jr. Day)
January 20 Repeating courses is permitted.
January 22 Saturday-only classes begin.
January 23 Last day to DROP all classes and qualify for a full refund (minus $10)
January 24 Weekday classes begin.
January 24-February 11 Late Registration (by permission only) and Schedule Adjustment (Weeks 1-3). Repeating courses is permitted. Late Registration fee: $25.00.
February 11 Last day to Register Late, Add classes using permission numbers, Drop a class, or Change Basis of Grading (end of Week 3).

Last day to qualify for a partial refund (minus $10) due to a drop in unit load below 6.1.
March 1 Deadline for previously disqualified students to submit an application for Fall 2011. Applications received after March 1 will be forwarded to the next available semester.
March 2 Deadline for Financial Aid application priority consideration.
March 4 Last day to confirm awarding of baccalaureate degree for students who completed graduation requirements for Fall 2010.

Deadline to apply for Fall 2011 undergraduate graduation.
March 9-10 Grad Fest in preparation for 2011 Commencement
March 31 Holiday; all offices closed; no instruction (Cesar Chavez Day)

Last day (60% point) to qualify for a prorated refund (minus $10). Students who remain enrolled after this date may not need to repay financial aid.
April 1 Deadline for previously disqualified undergraduate and second bachelor students to submit the Previously Disqualified Questionnaire for Fall 2011 readmission.
April 4-9 Spring Recess; no instruction. Offices open regular business hours.
May 13 Last day of formal instruction.

Deadline to submit thesis or graduate projects for Spring 2011.
May 14-20 Final Examinations Week. Learn how to View Final Exam Schedule. Grades are posted online approximately one week after finals.

May 27 Last Day of Spring 2011 Semester.

March 21-27, 2011 Obtain a registration appointment online (regular CSUN students only)
March 28-April 4 Registration-by-Appointment (regular CSUN students only). Repeating courses is not permitted.
April 5-May 30 Nonrestrictive Registration, Sessions 1 and 2. Repeating courses is permitted.
April 5-July 12 Nonrestrictive Registration, Session 3. Repeating courses is permitted.
May 31 Summer Term 2011 begins.
Session 1 (12 weeks) and Session 2 (6 weeks) begin.
May 31-June 10 Late Registration/Schedule Adjustment, Sessions 1 and 2.
July 4 Independence Day Holiday; campus closed; no instruction
July 12 Session 2 ends.
July 13 Session 3 (6 weeks) begins.
July 13-22 Late Registration/Schedule Adjustment, Session 3.

July 18 Fall 2011 parking permits can be purchased online starting today.
July 18 - August 28 Nonrestrictive Registration (no appointment needed).Repeating courses is not permitted until Thursday, August 25.
August 1 Fall 2011 parking permits can be purchased in person starting today.
August 24 Fall 2011 Financial Aid balance checks are mailed starting August 24 and weekly thereafter.
August 25 Eligible students may repeat courses beginning today. See Repeat Policy.
August 27 Saturday classes begin.
