Summer Registration Preparation

For Continuing and New CSUN Students Only

Summer Term: May 27 - August 19, 2008

• Session 1: May 27 - August 19 (12 weeks)
• Session 2: May 27 - July 8 (6 weeks)
• Session 3: July 9 - August 19 (6 weeks)

Preparing to Register for Summer Term

Follow these steps to registration success if you are eligible to enroll in Summer Term as a new or continuing CSUN student:

1. Review the academic policies and enrollment requirements for maximum unit load, repeating courses and more. Select these and other topics in the Table of Contents to the left.
2. Set a registration appointment. Obtain your own registration appointment in the SOLAR Student Center starting March 24. See Set an Online Appointment.
3. Clear registration holds. Log into myNorthridge at www.csun.edu >Student Center (SOLAR) >Holds (box) >Details.
4. Register online for classes at or after your appointment time. Log into myNorthridge and click Student Center SOLAR > Academics (section) > Summer Appt/Enrollment. For instructions, see page 9 of the Summer Term 2008 Enrollment Guide in Class Schedules under the heading Summer Term 2008.
5. Pay your fees. For fees, tuition, payment deadlines and methods, see Money Matters and/or Financial Aid and Scholarships.
6. Manage your schedule and account.

• Confirm your class schedule in the SOLAR Student Center and print a copy.
• Check SOLAR Class Search regularly for class cancellations or other changes at www.csun.edu. Verify that a class missing from your schedule has been cancelled.
• Each time you adjust your schedule, check your account balance in the SOLAR Student Center >Finances >Account Information.
• Watch payment deadlines to avoid disenrollment.

Important Notes for Troubleshooting

The following registration notes may help you troubleshoot:

1. Only regular CSUN students (i.e., new and continuing matriculated students) may obtain registration appointments and register by appointment. Review Who Can Attend Summer Term.
2. Visiting summer student registration begins April 15. Contact The Tseng College for registration guidelines.
3. Because Sessions 1 and 2 will have already started, swapping classes from Session 3 to Sessions 1 or 2 after May 26 is not permitted.
4. You may enroll in repeated courses to improve GPA during the Nonrestrictive and Late Registration periods. Repeating courses during Registration-by-Appointment is not permitted. See the repeat policy.
