FRESHMEN - INTENT TO REGISTER

Introduction

All freshmen who have been admitted to CSUN must indicate their Intent to Register for classes in the upcoming fall semester by electronically filing their Intent to Register. Filing is easy. This guide explains how.

Note: File your Intent to Register for the Fall 2010 semester no later than 11:59 pm on Saturday, May 1, 2010. If you do not file by May 1, you will not be able to enroll in Fall 2010 classes.

When finished, print the My CheckList screen to verify your Intent to Register decision and save a copy for your records (see Step 9).


Step 1

Log into myNorthridge at www.csun.edu with your CSUN User ID and Password.

Step 2

Your myNorthridge page displays. In the upper right under the banner, click the Applicant link.

Step 3

Your myNorthridge Applicant page displays. Locate My CheckList (center column).

In the Status section of My CheckList, click the link Intent to Register (Click here to Accept/Decline Admission)The deadline to file your intent is May 1, 2010.

Note: If you have already filed your Intent to Register, or if the deadline to file an Intent to Register has passed, the message will change.

Step 4

The Intent to Register page displays. Check the appropriate box to accept or decline CSUN’s offer of admission. Then click Submit.

Step 5

This screen asks you to confirm your intent to accept or decline CSUN’s offer of admission. Click Cancel to return or OK to confirm your request.

Step 6

When you confirm your request, a pop-up window displays to confirm that you accepted CSUN’s offer of admission.

If you declined the offer of admission, a different pop-up message will display: “Your Intent to Register indicates you do not plan to attend CSUN for the Fall Semester 2010.”

Step 7

Return to myNorthridge by clicking the Home link in the black ribbon at the top.

Step 8

When the myNorthridge page displays, click the Applicant link to return to My CheckList.

Step 9

On the Applicant page, your Intent to Register decision is confirmed in the Status section of My CheckList.

Important! Print and save a copy of the My CheckList page for your records. Make sure your 9-digit Campus (Student) ID number AND the message “You have registered your intent to attend CSUN for the Fall Semester 2010” display in the print out.

Printing Tips:

  • PC users: Use the Print Screen button on your keyboard
  • Mac users: Use Command (Apple) key + Shift + 3

Note: Once you’ve filed your intent, you cannot change your decision electronically. Instead, contact Admissions and Records at

Step 10

Congratulations! That’s it, except…

Revisit the Incomplete Tasks section of My CheckList to make sure CSUN is receiving your missing transcripts, test scores, and/or the other items required to complete your application. Your checklist will be updated as CSUN evaluates what you send.

Reminders:

For the Fall 2010 semester, be sure to:

  1. Ask your high school to send the CSUN Office of Admissions and Records your official transcript showing completion of the final semester of your senior year and verifying graduation date.
  2. Take the EPT and ELM placement tests (or be exempt) on or before June 19, 2010.  If you don’t satisfy this requirement, you will forfeit the opportunity to enroll at CSUN as a first-time freshman. For test information and online registration, see the CSUN Testing Center.
