E-mail is an official means of communication at California State University, Northridge. It is your responsibility as a student to monitor your university Gmail account or miss important information about enrollment status, financial aid, fees, registration, and more. To forward your CSUN Gmail to another e-mail account, log into Gmail and select Settings. Learn more at Student Email FAQs.
Intent to Register in Fall 2010- File by July 2, 2010
New! All new and returning transfer students who plan to attend CSUN in Fall 2010 must electronically file an Intent to Register no later than 5:00 p.m. on Friday, July 2, 2010. If you do not file your Intent to Register online by the deadline, you will not be able to attend CSUN in Fall 2010.
To file your Intent to Register:
- Log into myNorthridge with your CSUN Username and Password at www.csun.edu
- When your myNorthridge page displays, click the "Applicant" link (upper right under banner).
- On the Applicant page in My CheckList, click the "Intent to Register" link to accept or decline CSUN's offer of admission.

Steps to Enrollment
Reminder: To enroll in Fall 2010 classes, be sure to complete all upper-division transfer student eligibility requirements listed at I Want to Apply by the end of the Spring 2010 term. Send your final official transcript(s) no later than August 1, 2010 (see below).
- Review the Checklist for first-time transfer students (click the link under Student Information, right column).
- Obtain Academic Advisement. Advisement is recommended as part of the registration process. Some majors require advisement before registration; this requirement will appear on your Registration Access Mailer. Make an advisement appointment by contacting the department of your major, listed at Academic Programs.
- Electronically file your Intent to Register no later than 5:00 p.m. on Friday, July 2, 2010.
- Register for Classes. The myNorthridge Portal Login on the CSUN home page at www.csun.edu is your gateway to SOLAR self service. Use the Student Center (SOLAR) to enroll in courses, pay fees and charges, check financial aid status, view class schedule and grades, print an unofficial transcript, review your Degree Progress Report (DPR), use My Academic Planner (MAP)--and more.
Consider taking upper division GE courses reserved for new transfer students. Learn more from Undergraduate Studies (click the link under Student Information, right column). - Apply for Financial Aid. To be considered for financial aid, complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) as soon after January 1 as possible. We urge you to complete the FAFSA online and make sure to enter CSUN's Federal School Code of 001153.
- Apply for Housing. Students who choose to live on campus at Cal State Northridge will find modern, spacious apartment-style living.
- Attend New Student Orientation. CSUN is committed to your academic success. Therefore, you are encouraged to attend the New Student Freshman Orientation to help you learn about the steps to success at CSUN and the campus resources and services.
- Take the WPE - Lower Division Transfer Students. A transfer student with less than 60 units should plan to take the English Writing Proficiency Examination (WPE) as soon as you have completed 60 units.
- Take the WPE - Upper Division Transfer Students. A transfer student with more than 60 units, needs to take the English Writing Proficiency Examination (WPE) as soon as possible.
- Meet Immunization Requirements. If you were born on or after January 1, 1957, you must present proof of immunization for or immunity to measles and rubella during your first semester at CSUN. If 18 or younger, provide proof of immunization for or immunity to Hepatitis B by the end of your second semester.
- Send All Required Transcripts by August 1, 2010. If you are currently enrolled in Spring 2010 classes at a college or university, you will need to have your current college send a final official transcript no later than August 1. Your final transcript will be used to verify that all the coursework you indicated as work in progress has been completed.
Send final official transcripts from all colleges and universities no later than August 1, 2010.
