- The Minor
in Gerontology complements
many other academic majors and many of the courses satisfy the
requirements or electives for other programs. The program provides
students with the knowledge and skills to pursue a career in the field of aging. Graduates with
a minor in gerontology are in demand for entry level jobs in
human services, allied health care, corporations, administration,
and direct services ina a wide variety of settings.

- The program consists of 4 core courses
that provide an interdisicplinary perspective on the processes
of aging. The integrative course is a capstone course that provides
the student with an appreciation for how gerontology fits into
their primary area of academic studies. The electives allow students
to select courses that reflect their interests and career objectives.
Lastly, the internship offers students an opportunity to apply
what they have learned and to develop professional relationships
with others in the field of aging. Assistance in obtaining an
internships within an agency that complements your career goals
is available.
