Josefa Gonzalez

Josefa Gonzalez was born in Los Angeles, California and raised in the San Fernando Valley. Upon the completion of high school, she began pursuing her Bachelor of Arts in the Michael D. Eisner College of Education at California State University, Northridge. As an undergrad, Josefa belonged to the Integrated Teacher Education Program (ITEP) where she received instruction on California curriculum standards and enrolled in courses that provided professional preparation in the field of education. ITEP also afforded her numerous opportunities to conduct empirical research and gain field experience as a student and teacher. Thus, she simultaneously earned her Bachelor of Arts and Multiple Subject Teaching Credentials from CSUN in 2007. In 2008, Josefa was admitted as a Master of Arts student in the Communication Studies Department at CSUN where she studied: communication theory, performance studies, cultural studies, and rhetorical studies. She earned her Master of Arts in Communication Studies in 2010. Always having been fascinated by the power of education and communication, she is honored to be teaching at CSUN where she has the privilege to work with amazing faculty and ambitious students.
