Gina Giotta holds a Ph.D. in Communication Studies from the University of Iowa (2011) and a B.A. in Media Studies from the University of California, Berkeley (2004). Her research is focused on the social, cultural and technological life of media artifacts, particularly those that have been used to erase or inhibit knowledge and information. She also does work in popular American television, war and militarization, and new media. In addition to teaching and research, Gina has extensive experience in college and community public radio, where she has served as a producer, free-form programmer and board member.
