Dr. George Uba

George Uba, PhD, has served as joint professor of Asian American Studies and English, and as a former chair of the Department of Asian American Studies. His teaching specialties include Asian American fiction and poetry; 18th and 19th-Century American literature; contemporary poetry; and creative writing.
He has a authored a monograph on ESL issues and numerous articles and reviews in the fields of American literature, Asian American literature, and literary pedagogy. His poetry has appeared in national publications, including Ploughshares, Carolina Quarterly, The Seattle Review, Breaking Silence, Verse Daily, The Southern Poetry Review; Two Rivers Review; and The Asian Pacific American Journal. His volume of poetry, Disorient Ballroom, was published by Turning Point Books in 2004.
