Read the Learning Objectives for a particular chapter
BEFORE you begin your reading. The Learning Objectives are designed
to guide your reading, that is, to direct you to the important prinicples
and concepts in each chapter. They are also designed to help to guide
your study.
-
Read the Writing Assignment for a given week BEFORE
you begin to read the chapter assignment. With the writing assignment
in mind, you will be better able to integrate it with your reading.
-
After reading the Learning Objectives and Writing
Assignment for the week, complete the reading assignment. As you read,
take notes on material that highlights the learning objectives and
that relates to the key points of a writing assignment.
-
Once the reading assignment has been completed, you
are ready to conduct the Internet Assignment. These internet activities
are designed to elaborate and elucidate some of the principles and
concepts introduced in each chapter.
-
After you have completed the above, you are ready
to execute the writing assignment for the week. Give yourself enough
time to write it, set it aside for a day, and then return to it for
editing. Keep in mind the old saying, "The only good writing
is rewriting."
-
After all is done and you have posted your writing
assignment, you have time to prepare for the weekly quiz. Use the
Learning Objectives to guide your study. Are you able to meet each
of the objectives? If yes, you should be well-prepared to take the
quiz.
