A small, rounded, tanish-orange patch of K-feldspar occurs in the myrmekite in the center of the photo to the right of the crack (first order red) in the thin section. This tanish-orange matches the tanish-orange of the K-feldspar K1 along the right edge of the photo. Because this rounded grain is in parallel optic orientation with K1, it is interpreted to be a preserved K-feldspar remnant of K1 in the myrmekite. This same orange patch can also be seen in Fig. 3c and Fig. 3d. Bar scale of 0.5 mm length; lower right.
