  • If you have an academic hold on your registration.

Yes, making an appointment promises immediate access to an Academic Advisor. However, some “non-appointment” exceptions are made, depending on the student’s circumstance.

What are Same-Day Appointments?

When SMSSC/EOP follows a Same-Day Appointment schedule, students can call SMSSC/EOP or walk in to make an appointment to see an Academic Advisor the very same day. This eliminates the long wait and the long lines of a walk-in schedule. Further, the student who is able to receive an appointment is guaranteed immediate access to an Academic Advisor. It should be noted that Same-Day Appointment slots fill up quickly so students should call between 8am - 9am for a spot that day. Of course, Same-Day Appointments can be completely avoided if students meet with their Academic Advisor before the Fall/Spring semester ends.

When do I make an appointment?

Advisors are available for long term planning appointments throughout the entire fall, spring and summer semesters EXCEPT during Priority Registration. It is best to make your appointment early in the semester before registration begins to ensure that you are ready when registration opens.
