Welcome to the Michael D. Eisner College of Education!
I am delighted to bring you greetings from our faculty, students
and staff. As you browse our website you will quickly come to understand
the dynamic and distinctive nature of our college.
We have outstanding faculty, cutting-edge curriculum, state-of-the-art
facilities, energetic students, and strong partnerships with local
schools. Our programs have been nationally recognized and we provide
multiple pathways to becoming a teacher, counselor, or administrator. In addition, we offer the only major in Deaf Studies in the Western United States. We also have a strong major in Marriage & Family Therapy.
Much of the strength of the College of Education comes from the
fact that the preparation of educators is seen as a university-wide
responsibility. Therefore, we have interdisciplinary programs and
joint teaching with virtually every college at CSUN. Our President,
Provost, Deans, and other administrative leaders support excellence
in the College of Education through both word and deed.
As you scan the sites of our six departments, academic centers,
Credential Office, Education Equity Office, or any of our special
projects, appropriate contact information is provided. Should
you have unanswered questions, feel free to call my office at
(818) 677-2590. I encourage you to visit the College in person
to observe for yourself our excellence in educational personnel
preparation.
I appreciate both your interest in education as a profession and
in the College of Education at California State University, Northridge.
Philip Rusche, Dean of the College of Education
