SPS TUTORING

SPS is attempting to reach out to any and all physics students by providing tutoring. The students seeking tutoring are advised to first read the chapter thoroughly and attempt the problem on their own. When the tutors see that the student has tried his best, they will offer helpful hints to find the correct solution. Choose Information >> Tutoring Schedule, from the menu above for more information.

The Society of Physics Students visited the LAPD Scientific Investigation Division on Friday, March 3, 2003. Former CSUN student Denise Lewis introduced us to the art of scientific puzzle solving in the field of criminal justice. Do you pay attention to detail? These people do. When it comes to solving crimes, they make a meticulous account of everything involved in a crime scene: from minuscule glass pieces to gunpowder residue and DNA. Currently, Lewis informed us that there are many positions available. Preferably they take students with a degree in the natural sciences, which will eventually become experts in a particular field of their choice. However, the lab will be moving to a new location and though they are currently accepting applications, there is a temporary freeze on hiring at this time. Student internships for undergraduates are also available.
