·        Batu Khan, the grandson of Genghis, established the Golden Horde, after his defeat of combined Russian and Kipchak army in 1223.

         The golden horde is a Russian designation for the            Mongol, in the western part of the Mongol Empire after the Invasion with Russia. 

·        The Mongols of the Golden Horde settled at Sarai, which they ruled their Russian domains to the north and east.                

·        To have their control, they were granted privileges to the      Orthodox Church, which helped settle the Russian people to their distant masters.

·        The Golden Horde enlisted Russian princes to act as their agents, primarily as tax collectors and census takers.  All the flow of silver and gold went to the Mongols, which was starving the local economy.

·        The Mongol deeply affected Russia. The Bubonic plague became common the Crimea region.

·        Ukraine suffered with population loss as the Mongols armies passed through on campaigned against Eastern Europe.
