What is a Panic Disorder?

Have you ever felt extreme levels of anxiety where you get jittery and feel that something disastrous will happen to you or the world around you? You feel your heart pulse rate increasing rapidly and you also start perspiring at times profusely? And after few minutes, does things return to normalcy? You probably just had an anxiety attack. If you get such attacks regularly for years, you are probably suffering from panic disorder. The degrees of panic disorder can range from mild inconveniences to the near chronic stage of agoraphobia where you tend to design your life in such a way that you are housebound most of the time. Their are multiple reasons of panic disorder. If your are a drug addicted, then you have high possibility of getting panic disorder attacks. It is a state of health which needs immediate medical attention. You need to carefully study the patterns and intensity of your attack. Do analyze yourself for panic disorder if you often get anxiety attacks, and are forcing yourself into a lifestyle just to avoid the possibility of such an attack.

Their are various ways to cure panic disorder. Conventional medications prescribed by physicians and psychiatrists are the most commonly used methods. But this has its own side effects. Some symptoms that are tell tale signs of panic disorder


Panic disorder is often ignored by people. However, this ignorance can prove to be dangerous. The symptoms can be easily seen. A panic disorder is more harmful then a panic attack. Panic disorder is elongated panic attack. By elongated, we mean that it can span for weeks and even months and at times even years if it is not cured. Panic disorder is the fear of getting a panic attack. People drastically change their life style, always remain indoor for the fear that if they go out and if they get an anxiety attack then what will happen. When a panic disorder is not diagnosed at the right time, or misdiagnosed, it can lead to agoraphobia, which is its escalated form. The symptoms of a panic disorder include shortness of breath, dizziness, nausea, high pulse rate, terror, trembling and shaking and a sense of drug like unreality, some people say they feel like they were going to die! Difficulty in breathing and a tingling sensation in the toes is another common symptom. The symptoms of an anxiety attack, as previously mentioned are not very different from a panic disorder, other than the fact that they may be short-term problems.
