ARF QUILT GROUP

 

Notes from meeting Monday January 21, 2008

We decided to plan and sew a quilt for a raffle to support the ARF scholarship fund.

  Theme: Flowers of the CSUN Botanical Garden (http://www.csun.edu/~hfbio002/botanic.htm)
 Unifying color: Green, same color to be used throughout to integrate quilt
 Colors: Multicolored, with use of medium tone fabrics. See information on primary, secondary, tertiary colors on the website http://www.colormatters.com/colortheory.html. Darker and lighter colors can be used for accents.
 Background, sashes, borders: Colors and widths to be decided
 Techniques for flowers: Open to discussion: applique, foundation piecing, paper piecing, mixed techniques, etc.
 Quilt size: 4 wide X 6 long - to give a typical lap/throw size around 46" X 60"
 Block size: 6" or 8" to be decided later
 Number of blocks: 24
